Research on the 10Gigabit Ethernet – Category 6.A protocol demonstrated that the transmission bandwidth does not constitute a sufficient performance criteria for high speed transmission.
Studies detected an “interference” phenomenon coming from the pairs inside the cable, other pairs nearby, the one produced in the ports close to the patch panel and among the ports of the telecommunications outlets. This phenomenon was called ‘alien crosstalk’ and is tested in the laboratory, where the noise produced by six nearby cables on a disturbed cable is measured. |
